Research areas at Circuits & Systems

An introduction

Research at the laboratory for Circuits and Systems covers the theory and applications of circuits and systems, signal processing, and VLSI circuit and system design methodology. It is organized into an algorithms and an architectures track. Current efforts include:

  • Signal processing algorithms
Signal processing for communications, as well as sensor array signal processing ("smart antennas"), with emphasis on the underlying structured matrix computations.

  • VLSI system design and automation
Specification, architecture and design of complex compute blocks and design automation.

  • VLSI IC design
Design of ASICs, in particular for solid state imaging.

  • VLSI design verification
With emphasis on the physical modeling and verification of VLSI circuits.
